Creating a circle of Trust!
'Why do we want to be with horses? When we surround ourselvs with horses, we feel connected, we experience true friendship and we feel inner peace and joy. In order for our horse to give us this special feeling, we should develop a sensitivity for our horse. We need to learn to feel. We need to learn to be aware of our horses feelings. Through loving and fair training we take away the horses insecurities and strengthen and support it in its body and mind. When the horse feels physically and psychologically comfortable and enjoys our company, it will give us everything it is able to and everything we are looking for in the connection with a horse. With my concept of fair training with the focus on mutual understanding and holistic development, I would like to show you my way to happiness, joy and harmony with your horse.'

Program Summary
Surround yourself with the healing and inspiring spirit of Joseph’s Dream Stud in the silence of the African bush! Learn and sharpen your horsemanship skills and your holistic view of a balanced horse.
In this training retreat we are focussing on grounding, sensing and deep connection. For Fiona it is all about understanding, learn to truly understand your horse as an individual and communicate to your horse as an individual. The key for harmonic training is feeling each other and giving back to each other. Closing the circle with making each other feel good about the connection, the time spend together, learning together and teaching each other.
Fiona has been been joining us in 2023 and has impressed us with her sensitivity to the individual needs of the horse and her approach of communicating back to the horse in individual ways during training. This retreat is about calming down and sensing your horse-friend to be able to give them a feeling of being understood and being capable of making you feel proud of them. It's about the balance of giving and receiving, loving and being loved back in an atmosphere of true understanding and trust.
You will learn how to feel the horse as individual and how to approach this in a unique training way while using the ingredients of groundwork (in-hand work), liberty and mediation.
We are taking it slow during this retreat and are respecting the horses as well as your personal pace and feelings and the nature around us. As always here at JD we can promise you will learn at least as much about yourself as you will learn about horses...
Take your time and breathe in the stunning and intense African nature, colourful sunrises and sunsets everyday and let your soul be filled up by the incredible concert of nature in these magical hours of the day! View our free roaming game at our local waterhole at dusk or dig into a book at your private luxury terrace of your chalet. Enjoy a dip into your private sitting pool on your veranda with a glass of wine. Take a stroll amongst the paddocks and meet our affectionate JD foals & Alpacas or indulge in some sweet cuddles from our Mini Donkeys and Mini Horses...
Our peaceful and modern shaped green village provides accomodation for you during your stay in one of our brand-new chalets with private toilet and bathroom. Our limited number of maximum 10 participants for this special retreat ensures that the desired family character of the whole experience stays alive and provides the opportunity for personal attention and questions.

Our peaceful and modern shaped green village provides accomodation for you during your stay in one of our unique and light chalets; each room single occupation and each room with private bathroom. Each chalet has a veranda with it's own mini pool. (See pictures below)
Meals:
Three meals provided by our talented chef on side are included as well as water, juice, tea, coffee - extra drinks are not included and on your own account.

Extra Week
You are welcome to book extra weeks within our volunteer program directly with us to deepen your training experience and practise (horsemanship and inner calmness methods) or to (re)learn horse riding the gentle way and to practise your newly gained Parelli skills with our huge variety of horses at stud.

Good to know
Visa:
You are entering Namibia on a Tourism Visa that you will get in form of a stamp at the airport when entering into the country
(Please note only Citizen of the People’s Republic of China will need to apply for an entry visa upfront).
Travel Vaccinations recommended for Namibia are Tetanus, Hepatitis and Typhus; as recommended in general for the whole of Africa. Please note that we are located in a non-malaria area (90km from Windhoek). No malaria prophylaxes required.
