You've always been into horses but maybe had a baby-break or simply no more time in your busy life to spend time with horses and to ride?
You always loved the energy of horses but never got the opportunity as a youngster to learn riding and it stayed an unfulfilled dream?
Then this is your program!
Together with our kind trainers and gentle JD horses in the relaxed and free environment of our Sandwerf Retreat Farm we will help you to get (back) into the saddle! We are taking it slow in this program and starting with the conversation learning what made you join this program and what you would like to experience rather than to achieve!
We will carefully choose your JD Equine Partner for your journey together with you to make sure you will have a safe and supportive experience all the way through your program.
Starting from the ground and with the focus on connection and communication we are approaching riding from a different perspective than any conventional riding school. At all time we are respecting your and your horses feelings and taking our time to work through everything in harmony and together!
Together we are starting from scratch and making you feel comfortable to learn without feeling minor amongst the maybe more 'experienced horse people'...
We want to support everybody to feel free and confident to connect to horses and learn riding at any age and do not want anybody to be held back or feel intimidated by any 'Equine Society' out there, that might be unkind and judgemental. The beauty in being and communicating with horses lies in their and your own honesty and pureness.
Not everybody had the privilege to grow up with horses and some of us who did maybe lost the connection and opportunity over the years growing up...
We want you to know that with us here at JD you are WELCOME no matter your experience level; we want to be your inspiration to get involved with horses or back into the connection with horses again!
This course has a maximum number of only 4 participants per course to make 100% sure that every participant gets the time and attention needed with the correct amount of sensibility towards everyone's personal story and needs.
We will help you to overcome possible fears but mostly want you to feel free and safe to experience pure joy and deep connection with your equine partner on this journey!
Here at JD and Sandwerf Retreat, where neither pressure, competition or judgement do feature and where you can relax to truly feel and express your own feelings and to share your learning curve and journey heartfelt, comfortable and with joy!

In this program you will gain a good insight into our gentle JD Horsemanship training methods and one-on-one sessions on a relaxed and exclusive holiday base but with the focus on translating everything back into the saddle and your personal riding lessons. You will also learn more about our philosophy behind our training and that living and communicating with horses is not all about training but rather about understanding and feel!
Surround yourself with the healing and inspiring spirit of Joseph’s Dream Stud in the silence of the African bush! When joining our Never too Late Program program you’ll have plenty of free time to breathe in the stunning and intense African nature, colourful sunrises and sunsets everyday and let your soul be filled up by the incredible concert of nature in these magical hours of the day! View our free roaming game at our local waterhole at dusk or dig into a book at your private luxury terrace of your chalet. Enjoy a dip into your private sitting pool on your veranda with a glass of wine. Take a stroll amongst the paddocks and meet our affectionate JD foals & Alpacas or indulge in some sweet cuddles from our Mini Donkeys and Mini Horses...
Our peaceful and modern shaped green village provides accomodation for you during your stay in one of our classy, free standing chalets with peaceful veranda and mini pool. (We have single occupation chalets and double occupation chalets, all rooms have private bathrooms.) You can choose your individual chalet upfront with photos on request.

Our Never too Late Course always starts on the first Sunday of each month.
We are accommodating any level of experience in this program as the one-on-one practise lessons allow us to adjust the training pace to your individual pace and needs. No age restrictions for this program. (Under 17 must be accompanied by an adult). You have the options to choose this program for a 2 weeks or a 3 weeks duration:

Good to know
Visa:
You are entering Namibia on a Tourism Visa that you will get in form of a stamp at the airport when entering into the country
(Please note only Citizen of the People’s Republic of China will need to apply for an entry visa upfront).
Travel Vaccinations recommended for Namibia are Tetanus, Hepatitis and Typhus; as recommended in general for the whole of Africa. Please note that we are located in a non-malaria area (90km from Windhoek). No malaria prophylaxes required.
