Surround yourself with the healing and inspiring spirit of Joseph’s Dream Appaloosas in the silence of the African bush! Get inspired by our huge variety of colourful horses living natural in a herd environment in Namibia's untouched nature and get to know our philosophy how to live with horses and nature with respect and in harmony first-hand!

We will spend hours together in the field with the herd and you will get exclusive access to our horses in the best light of the day to take countless stunning pictures in our breath-taking Namibian winter setup! 

Start to truly see and appreciate the horse as an individual and a free soul with wild roots... Learn with Annika to read, listen and understand the horses family dynamics, needs and way of talking to you before communicating back!

You will then get the opportunity to apply your newly gained understanding in your private horsemanship lessons with our JD horsemanship trainer while communicating in movement and also for training purposes if you wish to...

Choose from our different JD training methods your 3 private lessons included in your Retreat stay, to deepen your connection with horses and to expand your horizon... Basic Horsemanship, Clicker Training, Liberty, Trust exercises, Bodywork and co are on offer and our talented JD trainer will teach you how to truly connect force-free!

Our peaceful and modern shaped green village provides accomodation for you during your stay in one of our brand-new chalets with kingszise bed,  private toilet and bathroom. Our limited number of maximum 6 participants for this exclusive retreat ensures that the desired family character of the whole experience stays alive and provides the opportunity for personal attention and questions.

What to bring along for your photography sessions:
 

• Bring along your camera no matter what your favourite camera is / the one you feel familiar and comfortable with

• We strongly advise on a good telephoto lense / minimum 200mm best 300mm / if you are not working with a SLR camera, make sure your camera has a good quality zoom option

• as this is not a photography workshop where we will teach technicals or post editing you do not need to bring your laptop. However if you would like some tips for post editing in Lightroom from Annika in your private Q&A session or use your private time to start editing your photos please bring you laptop or tablet along

What to expect during the Photo sessions:

Please note that this is not a photography workshop. Annika will not teach the basics of photography or explain your camera to you. She will invite you to join her on the exclusive sets she creates to take our amazing JD photos and will guide you through how to sharpen your eye and see the pictures from within you.

​

At JD Annika will share the unique and usually only private photo opportunities of our stunning JD herd with you before sharing her decades of knowledge and experience of how to best put wildlife and the animals soul into capturing photos during the following Etosha Safari.
